In 2008 the Scientific Program will feature: - International experts - Plenary sessions covering a range of cardiac and vascular CT theory and new research - Panel sessions to facilitate discussion on radiation safety, coronary CT angiography and advanced non cardiac CT techniques - A number leading workstation vendors demonstrating their systems in workshop sessions giving delegates insight on how to manipulate their images to get the maximum diagnostic benefit The format of the conference is for a series of lectures to be held in the middle of each day. A range of cardiac and vascular CT topics will be covered during these lectures. Included in this segment is live video feed of a cardiac CT being performed. During this the expert panel will give tips on how to do a scan, including information on protocols and contrast. In the mornings and afternoons small hands-on workshops on workstations will be run by the major vendors. During these sessions it is expected that delegates will expand their knowledge and ability to manipulate images on a workstation.

Dear Sir/Madam: The Argentine Radiation Protection Society is hosting the 12th International Congress of the International Radiation Protection Association. It will be held on October 2008 in Buenos Aires. The Congress will focus on three major areas: • The epistemology of radiation, namely the methods, the validity and the scope of current knowledge of the physical and biological sciences in relation to the effects of radiation exposure. • The paradigm of radiation protection, namely the conceptual model for keeping people safe from the health effects due to radiation exposure • The practice of radiation protection, namely the actual application and use of radiation protection plans and methodologies by practitioners and industries making use of radiation.
