International Day of Radiology: improving global access to safe and appropriate cardiac imaging

Every day 10 million people undergo radiological imaging procedures worldwide: cardiac imaging accounts for about one third of them

Cardiac imaging plays a key role in the management of the cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), which is currently the leading cause of death globally. On the 123rd anniversary of the discovery of X-rays, WHO congratulates imaging professionals from all over the world, and encourages them to continue working for enhancing quality and safety in medical imaging.
