The first Executive Committee meeting under new ISR President, Dr. Luis Donoso, took place in Vienna during ECR 2019
ISR’s key goals for the coming period include strengthening the visibility of the society and its activities, launching a new policy of communication and collaboration with ISR members, increasing its membership base and further expanding its convener and facilitator function regarding quality and safety in radiology and education.
In addition, the ISR Executive Committee will be closely engaged in supporting the preparation and dissemination activities for the International Congress of Radiology 2020, to be held in Muscat, Oman, from 8-11 October 2020. The congress will provide a great opportunity to further strengthen ISR’s ties with other international professional societies as well as with its partners from WHO and IAEA. The Executive Committee members had the pleasure to welcome Dr. Maria Perez, from the WHO Department of Public Health, Environment and Social Determinants of Health, and ISR’s designated technical officer at WHO, to the meeting to discuss the workplan of collaboration for 2019-2021.
The ISR is honored that the WHO Executive Board decided to maintain the ISR in official relations with WHO at its meeting in January 2019, based on ISR’s extensive activity report for the previous 3-year period, submitted in fall 2018.
